Privacy Policy

What we collect

FlashLyrics does not require an account, registration, or login. We do not collect your name, email, or any personally identifiable information.

The only data accessed locally on your device:

• Currently playing song title and artist (via Android MediaSession) — used only to fetch lyrics in real time
• Songs you manually save to your offline library — stored locally on your device only
• Your app preferences (theme, accent color, sync offset, ad toggle) — stored locally on your device only

None of this data leaves your device or is sent to us.

Lyrics fetching

To display lyrics, the app sends the song title and artist name to one or more lyrics API services. No personal data is attached to these requests.

These services may log song search queries per their own privacy policies. FlashLyrics is not responsible for third-party data practices.

Advertising

FlashLyrics includes an optional ad banner to support development. Ads are off by default. You can enable them in Settings → Support Development.

When ads are enabled, Google AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads. When ads are disabled, no data is shared with AdMob.

Google's privacy policy applies to AdMob data: policies.google.com/privacy

Permissions

• Notification access — required to read the currently playing song via MediaSession
• Internet — required to fetch lyrics from API services and load ads (if enabled)
• Storage (optional) — used only to save lyrics offline to your device

No other permissions are requested or required.

Children's privacy

FlashLyrics is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update the effective date above and note the change in the app's release notes.
